Sporting Equals Leaderboard Report Launch, House of Lords, 20 November 2014.
This event launched the findings from a report on Black and Minority Ethnic representation on National Governing Bodies of Sport. The report highlighted the disappointingly low numbers of Black and Minority Ethnic representation with just 14 out of 45 currently sitting on sports governing body boards.
In attendance were senior representation including CEOs and Chairs from across the sporting sector including: The FA, England Athletics, British Athletes Commission, RFU, Sport Wales, UK Sport, DCMS, Sport England, British Gymnastics, Table Tennis England, ASA, ECB, LTA, PFA, Williams F1, Youth Sport.
At this event the very first British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (BEDSA) were announced to take place in February in Coventry. This will be a special annual ceremony rewarding excellence among black and minority ethnic sports men and women. For more information http://www.bedsa.co.uk
